I have heard that the journal networks have expanded and so I am writing in English for those who do not read the beautiful language of French. It was so wonderful to feel the sun after the cloud cover and rains we've been having here. We took a trip to the beach, the children and I, and had a wonderful time playing in the sand and enjoying the warmth. They were radiantly beautiful and I could not help but reinstate my belief that adequate sunlight is necessary for a beautiful kind of health and happy spirit. I love my home and the children have grown to love it as well. They're all growing so beautifully here.

[Private to Daphne]

I'm not entirely sure you'll be able to see this, but since there have been changes to the magical network that connects these journals I thought I would give the owls a rest and test this instead. If you can read this, then I would like to wish you a very happy New Year to both you and your husband. Despite the dreadful weather in England and the state of everything, I sincerely hope that you were able to find joy to celebrate this season and look forward to new growth and accomplishments in the year to come.

Tell me, have the two of you moved past the honeymoon stage of your marriage yet?

[/private]

[Private to Bill]

I love you. I desperately hope you can see this.

[Against Death Eaters]

It has been wonderful to have Gabrielle at my home over the holidays. I wish she didn't have to go back to her little place where she is alone. Perhaps staying with us would be best for her. Yes, that is certainly what must be done then. I will have to invite her over for lunch and we can discuss it. Bill, I'm sure you won't mind? Oh, and don't forget to be sure to have the night of the 4th off as we talked about.

It was wonderful to spend some time with my parents in France. My husband looked radiant in the sun of Southern France. It was a joy to spend some alone time with him while there. There is nothing like the amazing warmth that such a place brings. Unfortunately, England is not so welcoming. Regardless, it was also nice to be back and with my children again. It was a short time away from them, but any time spent away is time too long.

Daphne, I see that you and your sister enjoyed yourselves while in France. You are well suited for such a beautiful place, both of you are. It is unfortunate that we live in such a dismal place. Perhaps we can get together for lunch soon? Oh, and also I sent a RSVP today for the masquerade ball. I will be bringing my husband as my date; I'm sure this won't be a problem?

[To Cliff]

I trust that things at the hospital have been cleaned up by now and you are able to go back to the regular routine of things? How are you finding married life to be? I'm sure you will come to find just how wonderful it can be.

[To Morag Warrington]

We met briefly at your wedding, I was a guest of Cliff's, and I would like to get to know you better. I'd like you to join me for a luncheon soon. When would be good for you?

[Against Death Eaters]

It will be so good to have Bill home and working in the country. I have wished this would happen sooner but now is better than never. The children will be consuming all of his time now! I cannot express how important it is to have your husband close at hand at all times. Egypt was beginning to become his mistress and despite all her magics, charms, and treasures she would find that she cannot compete with me.

We all slept in the same bed last night. To have all of my little ones surrounding me and my husband was like sleeping in heaven. Their little bodies breathing and sighing in their sleep is better than the singing of the angels.

My parents will be celebrating their anniversary at the end of this month and they will have their ball in France, of course. It will be magical and I cannot wait to get away and immerse myself in it.

Clifford Warrington. You're to be married and I'm just now informed about it?

Viktor, you will join me and my family for a dinner before you go home for the holidays?

Hermione and Ron, congratulations on your home. Though I don't see why you are not married by now it is a good thing to have your love at home with you.

Gabrielle, stay with us for the holidays.

Private to Oliver

My sister is wanting to go out to get something to eat and visit an art museum, would you be a gentleman and escort her?

/Private

I had a perfect birthday celebration. Thank you to everyone who wished my well and showered me with gifts. Very thoughtful, and while not necessary, very appreciated. The children put on a play, written and directed by Victoire. It was beautiful and adorable. Bill made the perfect knight in shining armor to save the princess (Victoire of course) from her horrid tower. Louis played the part of woodland creature and Dominique was the fairy godmother! Everyone that was able to witness it would agree that it was the best production they'd ever seen. My little Victoire is quite creative.

I must also thank everyone who played the part of props and scenery in the play.

[Hexed to Bill]

You wanted to tell me something the other day?

[/Hex]

Viktor's party was delightful. I'm very glad to have attended! Happy Birthday Viktor. I hope everyone got a chance to talk to my little sister, Gabrielle. She has recently moved to England from France and is still meeting new people and making acquaintances. I am glad she was willing to come with me.

Bill is doing better, now that he stayed with me and the children at home instead of going into work. The girls were concerned about their papa but he is good with directing their attention to other things and making them forget all about it. It was good to play outside in the sun with my family.

This war will not be like it was last time. I didn't have my children then and Bill and I only had to worry about ourselves, other than his own family of course. I, of course, will do everything in my power to protect my family but running and hiding I will not do. I must admit that I have grown to adore this little rainy island and it's people. I've just started to get used to it and I have my home away from home here. It would not do me well to sit in the sun of another country and pretend that life is good when I know that there are terrible things happening here.

That attack in Wales was horrible and being there as a representative of the Daily Prophet not something I would have chosen for myself. But it is a job and had to be done, and I must admit that I was proud to have been asked to report on the aftermath.

Rumors are always flying around a news room and I had to go look for myself about this one. The Minister has indeed sited his own brothers' business as a source to purchase defensive items from. It may appear to be a political move to boost their business but I don't think so. It is true that Weasleys Wizard Wheezes sells defensive items and the Ministry has purchased from them, but it is also true that the Ministry has done the same in the past when Mr. Weasley was not the Minister. It is also true that Minister Weasley has not spoken with the owners of the shop in nearly a decade.

In other news, the children are as happy as children can be. They know nothing about the troubles of the adult world and go one to play happily in their lands of make-believe. Perhaps it would be nice to view the world as a child at times.

Roger Michael Davies. I hope you didn't have a party and didn't invite me. If that's the case, then you can forget about your present.

The Alice in Wonderland party was fantastical! I haven't dressed in a costume for a time now and it was wonderful dressing the children and being able to see everyone. I'm sure everyone continued to enjoy themselves even after we had to retire with the children. It is always good to be at the Burrow.

Bill, I have something you need to see, but you'll have to come quickly and cancel your work schedule tomorrow. You don't want to miss this, and once you see what I mean you won't want anything to disrupt us.

The children have all finally fallen to sleep with their nap. Poor Louis had a small fever and wet nose and has been crying on and off all day. It's like a dream to watch him sleep. He is so peaceful and it does me well to see him resting. Victoire wanted to help me all day and has done more than enough helpful things for now. She thought could work in the garden and watch Dominique for me while I was cleaning inside. When I looked out to check on her, she had cut all of my lilies and had the blooms turned upside down pretending they were ladies in dresses. She said they were for me and I helped her put them in some water. They were both very dirty but are as clean as the angels again and are happily dreaming of ladies in dresses.

As for me, I will sit outside with a glass of wine and watch the ocean.

La vie est belle!
